13. A while ago, someone on here took strong exception when I used the term

'roll in the tanks.' This strong federal response to the immoral actions of a state - in this case, Texas, is what I meant. When states engage in hateful policy actions against protected groups, then a strong federal response can include calling out the Guard, as LBJ did in 1965 and Ike did in 1954.

You bet. Or, as the statue says in Jackson Square, New Orleans, "THE UNION MUST AND WILL BE PRESERVED."
