Will history repeat?

1. The President has promised not to send american forces to fight in a european war.
2. He considers establishing a no go zone for tyrannical forces and direct aid to a beleaguered country but is concerned he lacks public support.
3. A group known as America First opposes any US intervention.
4. A vocal minority hopes to aid the President by advocating US intervention in europe.

Of course that was early 1941.

The big difference between 1941 and 2022 is that the "tyrannical forces" are ICBM nuclear armed "tyrannical forces".

And, while China is a dictatorship, I don't think they will take this opportunity to bomb Pearl Harbor (or, more to the point, invade Taiwan). So they aren't quite the equivalent of 1941 Japan.
