(36,561 posts)first we have to drive a wooden stake through his heart, cut off his head and then stuff his mouth with garlic. Fill the box with cement.
Then nail the lid shut and we lower it into the Mariana Trench.

(12,216 posts)I remember reading accounts about Hitlers bombing of London with people there checking in the morning after a horrific night to see if St. Paul cathedral was still standing. Such historic building are important to a society, and Putin is destroying them in Ukraine. To me, that also is a war crime.

(63,221 posts)life, but to wipe out a people's history and culture is to destroy their soul and what makes them proud. It is almost just as evil.
I had always hoped to see that part of the world someday. It will never be the same. I can't imagine how much it must break the hearts of the people who are from there and are still alive.

They are precision munitions that can be targeted to several meters. And they are frequently armed with multiple rounds (clusters) that are designed to kill in a broad radius.

(2,541 posts)Of developed countries that have the wherewithal to do so must come together with a unified front and tell Putin in very clear and understanding language that he has to stop his forces. If not it will be Russia against the World. Putin cant be allowed to slowly day after day continue to turn parts of Ukraine to dust and kill innocent people.

(17,688 posts)I worry that the hatred directed at this evil dictator will cause the people in the country not to be able to survive.
The Marshall Plan for Germany post WW-II was admirable. It also led to the sense that Germany did not ever want to be considered a military power in the then future. It's taken 70 years for them to realize that they have to be part of a pan-European structure that includes defenses.
Can Russia eventually be considered part of the common European ecosystem? Or will it always feel under attack and paranoid?

(11,860 posts)10,000 times as much, at least, to rebuild Ukraine...and that's assuming more or less the best outcome possible. 100s of billions, I'd think.
