Never heard of this one. I used to do polling for a living.
It was a combo of local and federal election questions. It was overall done very well. One problem though...it was not a random sample. They asked to speak to the male head of house. There were probably quota sampling which is not a sound methodology.

(11,304 posts)If I voted for Obama press 1 or if I voted for Romney press 2 or 3 for a third person. Then they asked if I voted for the dem or repub congressman press 1 or 2. The last question was to type in using the phone keys what yr I was born in.

(4,742 posts)I refuse to do computer polls. It is mostly so cheap, crap polling companies can do business and make a few bucks.

Questions were straight forward.

(23,156 posts)organization I hadn't heard of. First I was asked if I was registered to vote, then if I intended to vote. I said, Oh, yes I will be voting early.
Then, the caller said he needed to ask the year I was born to make sure their demographics were correct. I was born in 1948 and told him so. He seemed to consult a list, then politely told me that they already had enough people in my demographic.
Darn.
On the other hand, it's nice if they were trying to get a good balance of ages, but of course finding enough young people at landlines is a bit tricky these days. Heck, I'm amazed at the people my age I know who no longer have landlines.

(4,742 posts)But a good polling company won't do quota sampling. It is not random at that point.
