Why all the talk from Republican's about Romney winning WI? Is Walker rigging things there?

This whole WI thing makes no sense to me other that to create the illusion of momentum. Nate Silver has WI as an 86% favorite for Obama, higher than Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, New Hampshire and Virgina.

If we lose WI and win Ohio and Iowa then we will know Walker rigged it. No question about it!

as if a privileged legacy fratboy were being interviewed for acceptance.

It gave me the creeps. When I see replays, it seems like he knows he doesn't have to try --- or worry.

the Repugs always seem to think they have a shot in. I'm not too fussed, Obama's gonna win them both. If he doesn't, yeah, something will be screwy.

14% of the respondents who said they voted for Walker will vote for Obama.

I won't put it past that Republican to steal WI for Romney, but as you said, if we lose WI and win Ohio and Iowa, Walker's people have rigged the election and we'll know that he actually lost the recall.

Romney realizes his goose is cooked in Ohio. He's not going to win the state. So, he's got to find another state to make up for those lost electoral votes. McCain took on a similar strategy four years ago when it became apparent he was lagging behind in swing state polls. If Romney doesn't flip a state that is in the Obama column, he can't win. The campaign thinks Wisconsin is their best bet ... just like McCain's campaign thought Pennsylvania was their best bet four years ago.

People read too much into stuff like this. The campaign has no choice but to go after an Obama state ... especially if they're really going to lose Ohio and Virginia. Look at the map and try to find a viable path to 270 without both those states (hell, without just Ohio) and also without flipping a blue state.

Even if Romney wins Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Colorado, he still loses 277-261. He can win Iowa and it won't amount to anything without Ohio. He needs Wisconsin in a scenario like that. If he loses Ohio, wins Wisconsin and can carry every one of those states I mentioned ... he wins. So, his campaign has to flip a state or he's done.

5. The "flipped vote" study focused on WI

The NSA analyst found that votes flipped from Santorum to Romney in the Primaries. The Wisconsin graph that showed the vote flipping looked obvious.

It won't be any surprise that Obama's votes will flip for Romney.

I sure hope there is a way to put WI under the microscope during the elections.
