(36,003 posts)Plus he's a fuckwit who signed a Putin-loving anti-vax Cooker into Parliament House back in February. Fuck him. His Cooker army whine when he gets egged, but are quick with the misogynistic rantings and harassment of a victim when one of them assaulted a local woman outside the ABC studios here in Canberra last month.

Fuck Craig Kelly and Clive Palmer. May there be many rotten eggs in their future...
Just come back to add a bit more, because I'm so over Craig Kelly and the Cookers and their pro-Putin, neo-Nazi links. Violence, my arse. I'd buy that woman a drink. She did what most of us want to do. Where she crossed the line was running over the foot of a UAP supporting cyclist who decided to try to block her car until the police arrived. If I'd egged him, I'd be staying there coz I'd be proud of it.

(36,003 posts)It's very telling that you've got zero to say about the actual assault of a woman that I posted.

(19,998 posts)Can't tell the difference. Her right to oppose the views of the Nazi ends, in this case, at the end of her fingers. It does nothing positive to advance the fight against fascism, it's childish if anything.
I've got zero to say about it because I've no intention of engaging in whataboutery.

(36,003 posts)But thanks for pointing out the bleeding obvious about Jimmy Kimmel. I would never have guessed.
I'm sure Craig Kelly would thank you for your concern. And I think it says all that needs to be said about you that you take what I pointed out about the abuse of a woman by Cookers supported by Craig Kelly to be 'whataboutery'. Over here we call it sheer hypocrisy...

I don't give a shit about Kelly, but it's a puerile attack by someone who is supposed to be on the side of right, lowering herself to his level.

(36,003 posts)I don't give a fuck whether technically charges for egging someone would stick or not. Or whether you are outraged by eggings or not. I just don't care. Just for you, here's one of the greatest eggings of 2022. After putting up with Cookers disrupting my city for over two months and seeing the abuse they heap on our local police and any local who dares to stand up to them, I'd totally applaud an egging like this one:

(44,216 posts)Also, I do not think many on here who are strictly US-based (ie the vast majority) know what a Cooker (the RW protestors, and what a bloody brilliant tag, lolol) is.
Same as most would not know what bogan or blood nut or choccy biccy means.

(36,003 posts)I dunno. Its not like the egg was hard boiled or anything that turned it into some sort of lethal weapon. Egging politicians is a tradition here, so maybe it doesn't translate well in countries where fascists having an egg cracked on them inspires OTT outrage...
The Cookers in Canberra have inspired someone to create a Wiki for them called Cookerpedia. It's pretty funny stuff and the Cookers are very angry at being made fun of...

(44,216 posts)I grew up in London, loads of Aussie and Kiwi mates,(many online too) and am used to being called a pommy, lol. Plus we have been to both countries multiple times. We almost moved to St Kilda (Melbourne area, for those reading this who are unfamiliar) a few years back, and my parents own a house in Grey Lynn, Auckland (NZ of course).

(36,003 posts)I don't like Melbourne, not that I've ever lived there. Auckland on the other hand is on my wish list for retirement living...

(44,216 posts)Melbourne was an academic job at the University of Melbourne. I know the weather is bizarre there, but I always got a great vibe, and the houses we looked at in St Kilda were smashing (and loads cheaper than West London, lol, but then again most places are). End of the day, we just decided to go with another path (Sweden, which we love, save for the weather, snowing again and again lately all this week, arrff, a rotten spring for a change).
Still more than open to a move down under someday.
cheers
local for you!

(36,003 posts)Speaking of Bentspoke, their main shop/bar/thingy is an easy walk from where I work. I've had a few work lunches there. I like them a lot because they didn't put up with any shit when the 'freedum' bunch were here in February and refused to wear masks even though there was a mask mandate at the time. The Cookers tried to googlebomb them and a few other local businesses, but many more locals gave legitimate good reviews which sorted things out...
I'd be keen on visiting Sweden one day, but don't think I could live there coz it's a bit coldish...
