Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta has approved support from the Department of Defense to states affected by Hurricane Sandy, according to Panetta's spokesman.

#SecDef has approved DoD support to states affected by #Sandy. Is monitoring from the Pentagon and stands ready to direct further action.
