All those posters are making fun of the storm. It's all a big conspiracy you know. Media is blowing it all out of proportion to keep news off the democrats.
Have those people just never been through a terrible storm? You just can't believe how bad it can get until you really go through one of these.

(2,866 posts)in which I lost neighbors, friends and parts of my home and ended up in the hospital I can say yes. But I will not make fun of this storm or those preparing for it. I will hope that the storm's force and effects are not what is being predicted.

(43,049 posts)most of them have been property damage and, quite frankly, just some really annoying inconvenience and expense. Some, maybe most, of us around here don't trivialize the storms, but just do what we gotta do and don't panic.
Tornadoes, though... One of my brothers lived in Tornado Alley and I remember hearing one race by while we were on the phone. Damn thing was LOUD, even from the cellar he was hiding in.
Tornadoes would scare the shit out of me.

(29,414 posts)But they've never lived through a disaster. In some ways, it's no different than those refusing mandatory evacuations. Yet, I don't wish for everyone to have disaster experience, either.
