Really Mitt?
That was a clip of Mitt Romney I saw on MSNBC
Only 50 million people are impacted and this storm is so fricking bit even Chicago and Detroit are getting rain from it. Romney made it sound like we might get a few raindrops here or there.
And btw Obama has a donation site for Red Cross on his page and nothing from Romney.

(8,582 posts)In saying, if it were up to me (Romney), you would be on your own because I plan on cutting out FEMA. A cold attitude toward people.

(16,350 posts)I saw the clip too. He followed with a perfunctory 'and our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected' or something like that.
But his tone spoke volumes. Sounded to me like this was a throwaway line some aide whispered in his ear, just before he went onstage, that he must utter. We all know his party in Congress would cut FEMA to the bone as well as anything that might ease or prevent suffering caused by a natural disaster. And he would sign that bill sure as he'd cut off the hair of a screaming gay kid.
