Paul Krugman's 19 year old cat passed. He needs some good vibes!

Doris, R.I.P. (Personal)
Some readers may know that for a long time Robin and I have had two sibling cats, Albert Einstein and Doris Lessing, both 19. Well, Doris — who had a lot of health problems over the years, but always managed to hold up — has had a tumor on her liver for several months. We babied her along, getting her to eat by feeding her special treats, and she held up much longer than the vet expected. But several days ago she stopped eating and drinking, seeming increasingly uncomfortable, and this morning we did the necessary and had her put to sleep.

I bawled like a baby. But she had a good life.

So sorry!
RIP Doris Lessing.....

My 2 shelter kits are so much a part of this family, even with their Kitty Nascar rituals we love them very much. Norky and Baba send their love and paw hugs Paul.

I know the sadness and loneliness of losing your beloved little furfriend.....19 years is a long time to love someone as you did...and your loss is deep....Doris had to be so happy to be with her family all that time....bless you all and I hope healing will comfort you.

9. 19 is a good age for a cat. My big boy is 15 1/2 and every day I check to see that he's breathing.

He's been sleeping under my arm most nights lately (and purring constantly). I worry about him but he seems to be at peace. That's always better. His brother had a tumor the size of a softball that was blocking both elimination methods. We had to put him down. I know my big boy still misses him. If I mention his name, he responds.

combout and some lab tests today. He's not sick, we're just doing followup on long-term issues with kidneys

ETA: I lied. He's 20. I just gave him a tiny bit of torb and ace. To be followed by a tiny bit of ketamine and valium, but only because of all the combing we have to do which will be uncomfortable.

I still miss my Smokey, a 22 pound black cat. He was a big boy.

Sending good vibes Mr. Krugman's way. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family.

I have no words to describe how much I loved that kitty.

I feel for you, Paul Krugman. Also, I'm not surprised you are a cat lover. The smartest men are!
