Heartbreaking.

The Rmoney paraphenalia is EVERYWHERE in what I thought was a true blue neighborhood: Oak Park, IL, and its surrounding areas. Let's get real: They don't like Rmoney--they just hate President Obama, and for really stupid reasons.

tee shirt and thought the same thing - No you don't. You just don't like the color of Obama's skin. Mitt? Really? What's to like? His not paying his fair share of taxes? His lies? His tea-party policy positions? His smarmy attitude? His sense of entitlement? I can think of few politicians on the national stage who are less likable than Mittens.

There's nothing there to like--he is a blank slate on which the latest poll-approved slogan is written. I have a few Mormon friends, and I can see why they'd honestly support him, but anybody else? Seriously?

I have a friend who lives in Oak Park. He was actually my roommate for a while. He visited this week and left this morning. He is an Obama supporter and was part of the Veterans for Obama group in 2008. He didn't sound like he's too worried about people in his town supporting Romney. Campaign signs don't mean an awful lot....more likely people putting up the signs to show their "disgust" at the fact the town is filled with liberal democrats.

I'm farther west - in Denny Hastert's old seat now occupied by teaparty Rethug Randy Hultgren. Ugh.

Thanks for the welcome. And I am sure Oak Park will be blue. Sorry for the location...maybe it can be turned around?

It's a fairly upscale town that for years has taken a very proactive approach to integration. Yet I have known personally some people from around there who wouldn't have much liked that.

Hopefully we are making up for it up here in Lake County, IL. Not much R/R signage anywhere, and I am in the district that voted that tool Joe Walsh in. Thank goodness he'll go down in flames!

against their interest when it comes to ethnic backgrounds. Funny I remember a time when no one could see it. When it was apparent from Day 1 of the Presidency. When you get a party etched in STONE that their objective is to stop THIS President from succeeding, no matter if the whole Country suffers, then you know how deep their hatred really runs. Even friends and family who you thought could be objective have showed who they really are. I have friends who have directly benefited from the STIMULUS and have taken the money and repeat the Republican Meme that the STIMULUS didn't help. And some of them would have lost everything they owned. Wonder why no one has mention that Ex Governor Romney has benefited from the STIMULUS himself.
