I know that this storm is terrible and I hope everyone makes it through. I think it will help Obama because he will be helping victims while Clinton will be on campaign trail.

The most likely negative effect, if there is one, is it will depress voter turnout in a mainly Democratic voting region. But even with depressed turnout, if he still wins those states, there will be no effect in the electoral votes.

(3,682 posts)Mostly I just feel hopeless knowing that people are going to suffer and die because of this (indeed, they already have), and our economy is going to suffer a huge setback at a critical time. Knowing the underlying causes and the likely future of such events, I can only hope that people learn and take action.
