Shipping 911 To Pakistan
Few people understand what could be shipped overseas. During the Bush years Indiana run by the GOP had a plan to ship the unemployment insurance call center to India through TATA. What that would mean is that someone in Indiana calling to file for their unemployment would be talking to someone in India who would take their unemployment claim. For all we know an unemployment claim in Indiana would have been completely processed and approved there as well. State workers in Indiana would have been laid off and had to file THEIR claim through India after they trained their INDIAN replacements. As crazy as that sounds it nearly happened.
Now take the 911 system. There was a plan and an idea to take the 911 emergency response call in system and base it in Pakistan.
They could handle it much cheaper and all you would have to do is just put in the computer system in one of their new technology parks and wire them up through satellite. Need a policeman or fireman call Pakistan.
This plan was never really initiated during the Bush administration. Under Romney such a travesty could happen. He is a massive privatizer and has kept his intentions well hidden. The fact that he would devolve FEMA to the states and allow that to be sold to private corporate contractors should tell you something. If you are willing to dismantle that system, the 911 system would be a piece of cake.
It is not the terrorists who are the greatest threat to this country. It is the GOP and guys like Romney.
