"Dear Red States..." A Letter From The Blue!

It's a few years old, but it still applies...

Dear Red States...

We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and
we're taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon,Washington,
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We
believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially
to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states.
We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get Elliot
Spitzer. You get Ken Lay.

We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood.
We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.
We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss.
We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You
get Alabama.

re-incarnated? welcome back!

anyway, i think the contempt was completely stirred prior to this. it's a reaction, or a response to the insanity we have been tossed into. we're helpless against the corporate media and the corporatist take-over of American government.

i'm tired of it too. fought it for decades. but it is reality and i figure this just recognizes that in a humorous way.

We will GLADLY take ALL the Latino and Hispanic people and any immigrants they despise and want to self-deport
and the LGBT men, women, and children they bully and ostracize
and the black people they abuse, malign, imprison, and murder
the atheists they condemn
and every woman who wants the freedom to control her own body and get equal pay for the work that they do

DEAR GOD, just let us go, Red States! You are an albatross, and a ball and chain, and a burden we can no longer sustain. We tried like hell to prop you up, cover for you so the world wouldn't think we were all so ignorant and arrogant. But NO MOREI! It was a nice experiment but it failed. We are so done with you.

I am so up for this. Just tell me where to sign.

a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (in this case, an entire region) with hatred and intolerance.

FWIW, I'm in a red state and believe all the things you mentioned. Not everyone in a red state is backwards. By painting us all with your broad brush, you're being a bigot.

So I guess you don't need all of the dems that live & work in those red states either, right? I mean it's not like we're working our asses off to get dem candidates elected or anything.

So, we should just quit now -- maybe go have a beer -- and let all you awesome blue staters handle things............since you are "so done with us" and all?

Frigging unbelievable.

They have a rather difficult time believing that we love our home states, no matter what the local/state politics are like. They resent the fact that some "red" states take in more in federal dollars than they contribute back. And they conveniently forget anything good that's ever come out of our states in any form.

Also, they only consider the "redness" as determined not on a county by county basis, but by electoral votes only. Otherwise, we'd be talking about the Violet, Purple & Blue States of America

We get 'Bless your heart' instead of 'Eff you.'
We get MLK Jr., John Lewis, Rosa Parks, And many more.
We get Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning, Brian Dawkins, and many more.
We get Atticus, Scout, Boo, Jem, cats on hot tin roofs, Steel Magnolias and many more.
We get the best beaches thank you very much.
We get New Orleans, Savannah, Charleston, Williamsburg, Jamestown, and St.Augustine.
We get the Pentagon, Quantico, a boatload of forts and armaments, and NASA.
We get racism because we recognize it. We get the continuing heartbreak of inequality and redneck legislators, but we know who they are.
We get land we know how to farm and a will to survive anything because we did.
We get many minorities who moved HERE or BACK HERE.
We get our winters back because snowbirds are not allowed.
We get the good and the bad and there are plenty of both.

We get reality and you get fantasy because apparently you think if we go, all your problems will too.

Let me say I am speaking about the morons who lived next door. The tattoo covered White Supremicists who spent a total of five months turning wrenches on cars that had to be towed away when they left. I'm speaking of the blithering inbred idiot who had a bumper sticker that said "if at first you don't secede, try try again". I'm speaking of the folks from the shallow end of the gene pool who love to re-enact the Civil war battles, only with the South winning. For those I always suggest they use real bullets at the next re-enactment. But they never get many people to play the part of the "Yankee" army.

I'm speaking of psudo democrats like Zell Miller who steadily stab the rest of the party in the back. Shall I continue with people I think would support the idea of splitting this nation up like mentioned above? Those are the morons, idiots, dolts, dunces, and dummies I think would support the idea. You know, your average Rethug voter.

If 51% vote red, you throw the rest of the state under a bus.

A liberal living in a red state takes a lot of shit off of neighbors and family. Then we come to DU, and take a lot of shit all over again.

If you think everything is black and white, maybe you should be a republican.
