NEAR FUTURE
In major conflicts of the past century, when US sends military aid, we get drawn into that war. We all see the destruction. We all feel sympathy for Ukrainians. We all are ticked off at Russia for being the aggressor. We all feel the pain at the pump or the heating fuels of our homes.
If you read the tea leafs, you will see we will be in the fight. A fight that become WW3. When that does develop, Russia, China and Trumps right wing party will find that communism and nazism will be history books. We will always have to defend our nation from extremists, for their influences can cause many to be misled for a dark goal. I will like to end this post that things will be better, but I feel we are at the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915. It will get worst, before it will get better.

2. IF, IF you are right and we will be involved in this war anyway,
why not get in now and end it now rather than later?

8. Preparation!
As a World Power, we can be on someone's back door in days, but to continue the fight will only last mere months unless we unleash our manufacturing war machine. The manufacturing war machine and movements of arms have begun. Right now, sad to say, the fight is proving a disaster for Putin. BUT! It is also proving he will not stop!

11. In my naive view, if the US and NATO go all out against
Russian forces in and around Ukraine, it will last a week or 2, tops. I know, I am not accounting for tactical nuclear weapons.... sigh...

12. One of the goals would be to minimize casualties in Ukraine, yes?
That requires careful planning and preparation, much of which needs to be done secretly. The Russians could kill an awful lot of people in "a week or 2, tops".

3. I'm not so sure about
Ww3. But its not beyond the realm of possibility. Most likely NATO will be strengthened. Either way pooty wont get what he wants. Is he arrogant enough to think he's entitled to destroy countries to get what he wants. Yes and its even more iffy feeling with a sociopath pooty. Pooty is like trump in personality type.
WW3 is not likely but possible. |

4. I could see China on the NATO side. That would give them Siberia.
And all of the raw materials that they would ever need.

6. Possibly. More likely, China would sit it out.
They're not a natural ally of Russia. There's been more than a few shooting conflicts between them.

5. An escalation neither Russia or NATO can make....
Putin won't cross that line simply because even evil men want to live. If things spin out of control, which they would if either side uses nukes of any kind, Putin will be one of the first to go and he's well aware of that. Then again, it can be argued that even though tactical nukes are a big part of current Russian doctrine for a losing, conventional fight, it's still a line they can't cross for the same reason. So, a conventional fight between NATO and Russia might stay conventional, but that's not a risk I'm willing to take.

10. Its not just US, NATO and all of Europe is involved, this is their backyard, Ukraine will fight on
Artilley, tanks and attack helicopters are on their way, Ukraine will not back down from Russian aggression, we are not letting them fall without a fight, war is war.
Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth, eh, nothing about the future can be predicted |
