The winds are now blowing over 65 MPH at the moment. The heaviest rain is south of the city in Jersey. Flooding continues in many parts of the city, and the surge is up to 5 feet in some places in the Harbor at the moment. Landfall is coming in a few hours. Good luck to us all. Just found out that a large crane attached to a building at west 57 street is ready to fall off.

(22,665 posts)stay safe and try not to stress yourself out. It is the mental anguish that can be the worst. I rode out Floyd at home with my animals and I was pacing the floors, checking for leaks with the flashlight and just keeping busy helped lots. Time to organize the sock drawer and keep your weather radio on. The weird thing here in NC is the wind is now at higher speeds than it was on first pass. We are now getting second pass from the back side in the mountains. I really want this to be over... we are going to be stuck with this a while I think. Now get busy! Trust me it helps!
