The Des Moines Register is in fact owned by Gannett.

Gannett did enter a contract with WSI in 2012.

WSI is owned by the Weather Channel.

The Weather Channel is owned by NBC Universal.

NBC Universal, the Blackstone Group, and Bain Capital do have a consortium.

This explains why they cannot defend their decision for endorsing Romney when asked.

except instead of Bacon, replace it with Bain or Mormons.

I think there isn't much in this country that Bain or the Mormon church hasn't touched in some tangential way.
