During the summer of protests after the murder of George Floyd, millions of ppl - including incredible numbers of white kids - marched in defense of black lives. This shook the white conservative establishment to its core. In their minds their children had been indoctrinated. 1/2

2/2 All of the CRT panic, book banning and anti-protest laws are a direct response to this. They are trying to push white children’s exposure to - and sympathy for - racial issues back to the dark ages of Jim Crow ignorance. It is a simple as it is shocking.

The GOP "ride with racism" has a long history, probably since the "southern strategy" days, all downhill, because downhill is the path of least effort, and hasn't hit bottom yet.

Hence the decades-long gripe with "liberal media" and their cult news sinkhole response.

Demographics and thought are moving against them and they are in full denial/blow-it-all-up-mode. To the extent that the "religious right wing" preaches apocalypse, it's a sorry bubble.
