Robo poll. First answered ( all answers via number key ) as to age group and whether male or female. OK, on to the poll. 1st question was whether I voted early or not ( yes ). Next question was who for ( Barack Obama ). Robo call then said thanks and that's all they questions they have for me.
I get the feeling my answers were of no use to them and were summarily shitcanned. Am I too cynical?

(413 posts)Edit: come to think of it I've been polled by independent voter research too several times, but each time with them I identified myself as Democratic.
Why the heck are they doing this stuff one week out from the election? Doesn't seem very useful.

(5,364 posts)Thanks. I was suspicious since their "few questions" turned out to be only 2 since I selected Obama.

(413 posts)I normally don't do this, but I thought it was a push poll, so I answered "independent" for party affiliation to see if I could trigger a live person joining to the call to try to steer me toward Romney (I've read some polls that seem legitimate on the phone do this when they determine you might be persaudable).
The call was not joined by a live person however. All they asked for were very basic demographic info. and horse race preferences for the presidential, senate, and house of representatives. Very short. I think it was probably internal polling for Romney.

(2,795 posts)Robocall, push a number for answer, 4 questions. Was I male/female, my age group, did I early vote or plan to vote on election day, when I selected I early voted it then asked who I voted for. I pushed "1" for Barack Obama and it said thanks and gave their name again and I think a phone number.

(35,340 posts)I am not sure if it was the same one. I figure they are trying to get a handle on how many people have voted early and who for. I have been hearing all along that a certain percentage have already voted and Obama is leading in early votes, how else would they get that information? I got one of those a few days ago asking who I voted for in our congressional election. Maybe it is a legitimate poll on early voters, it doesn't necessarily have to be some vast conspiracy does it?

(1 post)I got the same phone call, and I was skeptical as well after giving my answers.
The only difference is, my answers were opposite of yours
