There's a vast and blustery thundering mass on the Jersey coast, blowing hurricane force winds. And that's just the governor. cc@GovChristie
on a serious note:
Governor Christie @GovChristie 24m
You are going to be shocked when you see the images coming out of the Jersey Shore.

Awful. Frightening. RT @Occuweather: This was Atlantic City.

(31,464 posts)Seriously, though, we're getting pinged up here in Connecticut, and I'm 45 miles inland. I can only imagine what it's like on the Jersey Shore. Be safe, people. We're in for a loooong night!

(13,305 posts)But in all fairness he handled Irene well last year and he's handing this one as well as could be expected. And yes, I realize a lot of that is just being a figurehead but I've got no issues with how he's handling it. And that includes him praising the President and Fema and mentioning several times over the course of the day how much Obama has reached out to him, how much he's offered to help, and how much he has emphasized that if NJ needs anything that they will have it.
Again, 95% of the time the guy is a blustering blowhard and a jerk. But that other 5% of the time, namely during situations like this and also the one time where he used his powers of insult and shouting down people to do so to someone who said something disparaging against Muslims at a press conference, I can look past the partisan stuff and not hate him.
