Battery tide level 12 feet

... Lower Manhattan has no power because transformers have exploded by the Fulton and Bowling Green network.
Rockaway beach and Rockaway Park have 8 feet of water. Many people in this area did not leave. Rescues are not possible.
Long Beach LI is under water.
Sandy hook is under water.
Jersey city and Hoboken waterside streets are flooding.
All of the Zone A areas of NYC are flooding.
ALL TIME record in the Battery and we are not at high tide.
Will give more info as I get it.
Pray for us.

So how many times will "the (insert idiot here who did not know better) was found dead" will have to be written?

And soetimes people really believe they know better than emergency responders

Talking as a former emergency responder and currently reporter.

If I got a buck every time I heard the...won't go to shelter, they are dangerous...I could have retired.

based on the info in your post.

The rising levels atm are continuing to rise and will do so for at least another hour, based on astronomical tides and the storm surge.

eta the levels in your post seem to based on the astronomical tides and don't include the 7+ feet of storm surge.

that would happen today regardless of the storm. The surge is increasing these predictable numbers by 7 or 8 feet. right now and will still effect them in the morning to some extent.

Everyone in the path of this storm is in my thoughts.

Here, hundreds of miles away (SE Mich), we are feeling some wind and expecting some snow and rain. But those of you anywhere near the coast and the winds and the power outages - I wish the best for you.

I really hope power gets restored faster than they are predicting in a lot of areas.
