I missed the first few words of the video where Christie identifies who did that. Who told some Jersey people to stay put. Christic referred to him as "elected officials who would interfere with the orders of a governor."

(129,067 posts)whether realistically, has the state assisted Atlantic county and Atlantic City in setting up large enough evacuation shelters outside of the city itself? AC has a population of 40,000 and figuring even if half of them can flee to friends/family outside the city perimeter, what about the rest?

(23,272 posts)And then, in recognition of his area's poor and working class who had no $$ or place to go, opened shelters today.
That's not telling people to stay put, that's recognizing the reality that some folks can't or won't evacuate and making sure there are safe zones.
A far cry from how Christie is characterizing this.
What a cheap shot from Christie during the midst of a crisis!
Ass.

Big surprise.

(129,067 posts)Christie is a piece of shit jackass.
There are alot of elderly and poor working class folks in Atlantic City, many of whom have been there for a couple generations supporting the resort and its hotels.
In a way, it's like a mini-New Orleans in terms of that portion of the population who has no where to go during times like this and this direct hit is unprecedented.

Does anyone have anything other than Christie's attack that Langford changed his mind and told or begged people to stay in Atlantic City?

Mayor made above statement.
This was after reporter saw a family have to be rescued after trying to leave.
Typical Reich propaganda.
