I remember a story here in the Los Angeles area a few months ago of a guy who in a driving rain storm ran into a transformer head on, maybe a power line pole. The lines or electrical supply draped down into the simi flooded street. Two young women driving by pulled over to help the guy out and lost their lives by stepping into the water. Don't remember if the guy survived.
Obvious point being, once you get outside don't do anything without the utmost caution. Stay out of the flooded streets, be aware of possible unknown dangers after the storm. Seriously, stay safe.

(6,823 posts)Some things we just overlook, thinking the storm has passed and let down our guard so to speak. Don't need any more tragedy then what this storm already causes in it's passing. Stay safe.

(6,823 posts)I mean this isn't a third world country we live in, especially places like NY City, or wherever they are reporting on this storm on the east coast. Power Lines everywhere ... we are 'lit up' ... unlike North Korea for example. They just showed transformers blowing up on MSNBC ... reporting downed trees etc... etc... need to finish their report and tie the two together, Water & Electricity = Danger.
