I am amazed that nobody has been hurt or killed yet! (Well, there was man who died when a tree limb fell on his roof, which is very tragic.) However, for a storm of this magnitude, I am almost amazed that things are holding up as well as they are.

For you to say that nobody has been hurt or killed is offensive to that man's family and friends, and to me.

He would have to make the statement knowing it to be untrue. And your evidence for that would be?

Now, if you link back to the post to which I replied, you'll notice that there has been no edit to said post. Ergo, the poster knew at the time that they posted that someone had died, and chose to state, with certitude, that nobody had died. I would contend that he or she, given the evidence, made the statement knowing that it was untrue.

Your response?

He states that a man was killed and that it was tragic. My mistake for missing the parenthetical, but the post still does not strike me as "offensive to that man's family and friends", since he explicitly acknowledges the man's death and labels it tragic.

That said, I apologize for the error in my post.

As to being offensive to you, that is your prerogative. But if you are that thin-skinned you will have a rough time around here.

Impugning the motives of someone who has been around here for over nine years when you haven't been here but little more than a week is not viewed with affection.

Just saying...

I'm sure they have better things to do than scour the internet for comments they may or may not find offensive (and which were not intended as such nor directed at them, or you).
