I think we can stop worrying about the election and focus on this storm.

(5,811 posts)Tonight I got two calls from the Obama campaign asking if I still supported the President - answer: are you kidding? They asked I had voted yet. answer: Yes, me and my husband voted for PBO & VeepJoe, Shelley Berkeley, $17 dollar man and the rest of the DEM slate. I said I have two friends who voted exactly the same way.
And I will be going in on Thursday to phone bank.

(96,793 posts)"Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that's the right direction," Romney offered. "And if you can go even further, and send it back to the private sector, that's even better. Instead of thinking, in the federal budget, what we should cut, we should ask the opposite question, what should we keep?"
Debate moderator John King then asked if that included disaster relief.
"We cannot -- we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids. It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we'll all be dead and gone before it's paid off," Romney responded. "It makes no sense at all."

(135,425 posts)I am not letting my guard down until the first Wednesday in November. Too much could happen, and the GOP pigs who are determined to boot him out of office are not going to roll over because we want them to so do.
That Adelson asshole has deep pockets. He spends hundreds of millions on cheesy, shitty ads and the spreading of outright lies because he knows, if rMoneyBooBoo gets in, it will be worth BILLIONS to him. He is MOTIVATED to succeed.
To help Obama, repeat the FEMA thing early and often. Send it to friends, loved ones and people you know who are or who know Republican small businessmen in the eye of the storm. Let everyone know what an asshole this guy really is.

(14,180 posts)while Massachusetts Governor, he requested FEMA funds on more than one occasion.
"-- In December 2003, he requested funds from the George W. Bush administration for 12 of 14 Massachusetts' counties following a massive snowstorm there;
-- In January 2005, Romney requested FEMA funds for snow removal after record snowfalls there, according State House New Service;
-- In June 2005, his administration requested FEMA funds to deal with the Red Tide outbreak."
