Yet another surreal rethug experience.

Somebody on facebook posted the picture of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns and a person commented on the bayonets and how "Obama said we don't use them anymore." I went ahead and corrected them on the quote, because he in fact said we use fewer bayonets, not that we don't use them at all, and I even posted a link to the pertinent clip from the debate.

All of the sudden all hell broke lose, with people wanting to "kick the ass" of the "fucking liberal" and accusing me of dragging politics into the conversation (with not a ill word directed at the original poster, who in fact had his post liked the most of any in the thread).

Seriously, these people have a fake reality constructed, and any challenge to that is met with violent reactions. That is a really scary thought to me....
