When I was sent to an evacuation hospital as a war casualty in Vietnam, my gurney was rolled off to the side because the ORs were full.

It was only due to the conscientiousness of an Army nurse who came back to check on me and discovered I'd stopped breathing that they performed an emergency tracheostomy on the spot.

If it were not for that nurse, I wouldn't be here.

In my hospitalizations, I've had about two years of in-patient nursing care, and I love every one of the nurses who cared for me.

I love nurses!

she's working in the KU Trauma Center now, and is loving it. Her career is taking a change for the better. She's always been interested in public health, and wants to make a difference.
