Duty To Warn 🔉@duty2warn9mNBC has moved Chuck Todd from MSNBC to NBC Plus.
Chuck Todd continues to get shuffled down the line at MSNBC. Less than two years after his daily version of Meet the Press was moved from 5 p.m. ET to the early afternoon, the network announced that MTP Daily is moving to NBC News streaming service and will now be called Meet the Press NOW.
NBC News is the leader in streaming news. Since our launch, weve been committed to delivering the best of NBC News journalism, free, to streaming audiences everywhere, NBC News President Noah Oppenheim said in a Friday morning statement. Chuck was one of the first broadcast anchors to see the massive potential of streaming and bringing Meet the Presss daily franchise to NBC News NOW reinforces the platforms status as the destination for news on streaming.
Todds new online program will debut in June and stream live at 4 p.m. ET. Longtime NBC News anchor Chris Jansing will take over Todds 1 p.m. ET time slot on MSNBC.

(14,585 posts)you know, big shoes to fill and all that.
But he's grown on me.
Do you remember the interview Jon did on Meet the Press years ago, before Chucky got it? Where he pointed out how lame it is when people are getting their news from the Comedy Channel instead of the so-called 'news' media? He had those guys SQUIRMING.
I loved it when Trevor called out Chuck with that deal on follow up questions.

(3,818 posts)quit having State Dept press conferences. Tillerson, coming from public sector, didn't think he should have to. State Dept biz is/was his biz, and he doesn't have to answer to anyone about the state of the US vs the World.
So, MSNBC gave her her own show and now they are stuck with her. You'd think she'd want to retire as Mrs Greenspan but hell, who knows.

(7,850 posts)did everything she could to push the Hillary email garbage...she's 75 (I'm 73) and she's "reaching" for words..the older she gets the better she was..it happens to all of us...way past time to retire..

(47,547 posts)of MSNBC weekday programming. It sure took long enough to get a clue about Chuck Todd. Hopefully Andrea can retire once and for all. Let her do an occasional on-location interview.

(47,547 posts)I felt badly when she lost her morning show years ago. She was one of my favorite daytime hosts. She was a lot more professional than the Chuck Todd-Samantha Guthrie morning show.

(13,535 posts)like her in the beginning, but I do now.

(3,818 posts)allow an interviewee to answer the entire question without interruption - they won't break in with commercials during interviews.
Stephanie Ruelhe (sp?) needs to go back on days and Kris take her slot at night. Kris is a natural segue from Lawrence rather than Stephanie crying over pics from UA. Everything has its time and place.

(9,961 posts)... I like Chris Jansing much better... I'm still afraid I might run into Andrea Mitchell over there - maybe she can move her show to podcast only?

(23,968 posts)I never watch MSNBC for those two hours in the afternoon - Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell. It is truly painful to watch.
unless someone is filling in for them. I wish Ari Melber had a two hour show and wish they would get rid of Hallie Jackson.

Hope this means MSNBC cable's left-leaning viewers finally woke up to Todd's spinning of disinfo and disaffection to them, but this is a critically important election year and he'll still be doing the job they hired him to do on the audiences they point him at.
I read there's a demographic that gets almost all their political/national news from the Sunday morning political shows. Not large, but every demographic counts and this one's being fed into the Republican maw.

Congratulations, Chuck.
