a disagreement about loud music or something equally minor. When a middle-aged man at the bar said "Turn it down!", a twenty-something guy stood up dramatically, approached the man, assumed a series of martial arts stances and cried "KARATE!"
The man at the bar rose and, without hesitating, broke a wooden chair over the young man's head and while standing over him as he lay crumpled on the floor, quietly said "Chair" and returned to his beer.
Sometimes mere words don't work and action is required.
I wonder if this might apply to dealing with Putin.

(3,397 posts)A karate stance clearly implies a threat. The middle aged man had the right to defend himself in this instance. Ok, he could benefit from reading Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication lol.

It strikes me though that we need to be considering whether the chair analogy might also apply to the GQP.

(20,008 posts)movie. Their scene was two older guys at the bar and these young, toughs started causing trouble. And the old man finished them off.
It was a great movie. Second Hand Lions. With Michael Caine. It was a sleeper.
