Wisconsin Republican reveals he made-up story of his own assault

http://www.bluecheddar.net/?p=25179

Republicans try to smear Mark Pocan but get caught in their web of lies. Kyle Wood works for Republican Chad Lee, who is running against Pocan for Tammy Baldwin’s U.S. House seat in the 2nd CD. Wood claimed he received a series of threatening messages from Pocan's partner, then was assaulted.

GOP campaigner for Chad Lee, Kyle Wood, alleged that he was beaten at his home and was briefly choked with a ligature on October 24th. He then told The Daily Caller and a Milwaukee blog that the attack was politically motivated. Today he recanted his story when Madison police detectives questioned him.

...

In an interview this afternoon with Madison Police detectives, the victim in this case recanted his earlier statements in regards to this crime. This crime, alleged to have occurred on High Street in the South Police District, will be cleared as “Unfounded” for case reporting purposes. Once follow up investigation is completed, MPD’s case file will be reviewed with Dane County District Attorney’s Office.

...

Wood had also earlier alleged that he received harassing text messages from Mark Pocan’s partner. Those were also fabricated by Wood. Isthmus quotes Captain Balles as saying, “Those did not occur. I’m not going to get into the specifics of how we know that.”

And yes, I'm looking at you WTMJ. I wonder if they're going to report on this, or if they'll sufder the embarrassment of their constant pot-stirring.

Funny, you never see Democrats doing this.

I guess it's a Jesus thing.
