At his briefing today Gov. Cuomo said that it seems we get a Storm of the Century every couple of years now. He said NY is not accustomed to such severe weather so often. NY and the East coast will have to invest in infrastructure changes to cope with these conditions in the future.

that thrive on hyping things up. I don't mean to minimize the suffering of many people in my area, but there have been big storms for as long as we have kept track of such things.
Right now, we have way more infrastructure than what we had a hundred years ago when storms killed many hundreds of people. Our satellite alert systems can get people out of the way, but buildings and infrastructure remain in place for the most part.
