so focused on rape and pregnancy? Setting aside any religious influences (of which there are many) on that party, they just seem like their minds are always on womens groins! WTF? What in the hell does that do to promote the general welfare etc, etc, etc,?

via birth control and abortion, and started working outside the home, men lost control. Republicans want it back. All of it. This is part and parcel of the Tea Party and the GOP platform. They are desperately trying to regain control of what they see as "their" country - from women, blacks, hispanics and other "minorities". They (white males) are no longer the majority in society or gov't or the workforce and this is their last, desperate attempt to change that - to "take our country back", as they always put it. What they mean is they want to take it back from women, gays, blacks, latinos, etc. - take it back to being controlled by white, hetero males only.

You have to ask yourself why they oppose abortion -- yet have no interest in preventing it (ie: contraception, sex ed, etc - they're all against those things). It's useful to oppose it. It's in opposing it they maintain control of women and their lives via legislative strings attached to their fallopian tubes.

The other (IMO secondary) reason is to distract from an improving economy, which has taken from them a big issue they planned to campaign against Obama on.

felt this way also. I know it isn't 100% correct or fair to put a whole party in this box, but when I see this type of positioning from the Republican's I cannot help but have a picture of a white supremist KKK group flash into my head, wanting to control households, regain a sense of white superiority, control women's ability to not get pregnant, pap smears, etc.

for the Democratic party to run this ad in every red state (including mine, Oklahoma) multiple times a day and before every Dancing with the Stars episode for sure.

"American Bridge, the Democratic super PAC, is targeting Mitt Romney online with one of the harshest "war on women"-themed spots of the cycle. The 30 second web ad is running as pre-roll on ABC News videos starting Tuesday, amping up the Democratic messaging about women in the final week of the campaign."

The only way they'll get it is if one of them or one of their loved ones is violently raped, gets pregnant, and discovers that they've been fed a load of bullshit.
