Erosion of the foundation is a real danger, eating away the support for the runways.

And the underlying electrical lines? And the hydraulics on all the trams?

Except for the naked body, and most fish, equipment does not take kindly to being submerged.

everything is safe before opening again. That runway was pretty dangerous even before Sandy.
