Does "Capitol riot" adequately define what happened on January 6th?

I heard a CNN host use "Capitol riot" on one of their early morning shows.

It seemed inadequate to me.

If it had been spontaneous and none of it had been planned or organized, then I could see using "Capitol riot" to describe what happened on January 6th.

But, we have learned a lot since then.

It was not spontaneous. It was not unplanned. It was part of a conspiracy to stop the electoral vote to certify Joe Biden as the President.

It seems to me that language is very important in describing what happened on that day.

There are a number of terms which more accurately describe what it was. Some are just as pithy (and therefore as useful for television) as riot. No good excuse for the misrepresentation.

their goal was to stop the electoral vote count, kill Congresspersons, and help install drumpf as Emperor. And the people still calling it a "riot" know damn well what they are doing.

This was anything but spontaneous. Calling it a “riot” is offensive.

Let's not forget a seating Supreme Court justice wife (helped plan and fund it) was neck deep in it as well as himself.

Coup coup cahoo!

The congressional Dems have the pukes over a barrel. Those verbal leaks, showing they LIED, have not yet been "explained" by any puke congressperson.
