Amazon supports reviews of books. I occasionally review or look at reviews, but in the last week, two books by very well received authors showed up with multiple one star review at the top of the "top reviews" sort. It took me a while to figure out that "top" meant "most votes as 'helpful'." All of the one star reviews complained about the "liberal" point of view in the books. One (a Spenser novel) featured him on a protection gig for an AOC type. The other, a C. J. Box book, which I haven't finished has a story line about a Nazi artifact. Another reviewer stated that he knew when there were lots of one-star reviews that it would be about politics. He's right. So I decided to fight back in this tiny way. I logged on and clicked 'helpful' for a bunch of five star reviews.
Hint: If you want to do this, sort by "most recent." The default is "top reviews" and then you get the cluster of one stars.
So, if one of your favorite authors writes a "liberal" plot, check out what's going on in Amazon and rate the 5 star reviews as 'helpful'.

(63,912 posts)I can find and buy a book I know I want and can have it at my door the next day. I also like its algo-
rthym that finds books like the one I was ordering. But I come forewarned about books they might be suggesting for me that really aren't. So I usually order anything political to be a book suggested by reputable sources online or on TV. It works for me!
