I'm talking about fanatics whose minds have been destroyed by the Republican propaganda/hate machine. And I'm also talking about elected Repulican members of congress. They are a minority, but a deadly danger to all the rest of us.

Why aren't "somewhat sane" Republicans speaking up? Because they live in fear of an unkind word from TFG, and the only thing they really give a shit about is getting reelected. They really don't care if America goes down the toilet, just so long as they can retain their power. They also fear Tucker Carlson. And that seems to be why they aren't talking about the almost weekly mass murders that are taking place throughout the country. Profiles in courage? I think not.

So here's my question. What can the rest of us do to start repairing a country that has gone insane? If you have an answer, please share it.

According to the line of BS they've been fed to the teeth with, I'm the enemy.

I am responsible for all of the problems in the world, the invasion of non white people into our once great country, the destruction of traditional marriage, and the erosion of judeo-Christian values.

Somehow at 50 years of age, I've managed to do this behind the scenes while no one was watching.

In all honestly, I'm really a nobody. Just someone who exists to enjoy hobbies and other pursuits. Another American blue collar working stiff hoping for retirement.

I now travel armed because of it.

3. There's only one way.

Find common ground. Focus on how liberals and conservatives are similar. Don’t shout, demand, or condemn. I have found the best way to do this is to ask them “how do you want your tax dollars spent?”.

Strong national defense, help the poor, elderly, and disadvantaged, build and maintain infrastructure, invest in education. There should be lots of common ground there.

Trump is not a Republican. He is an aberration. He wants to be king. He needs to be incarcerated.

5. The voice they're currently listening to is Tucker Carlson

He's reinforcing their hatreds. He's telling them to fear the "THEMS." And, although he's not using these words, he's saying that "All the THEMS have to go.

This same message is being preached by demented "Christian" preachers in many churches.

Carlson doesn't believe the crap he's peddling. He's doing it for the money and he power and he couldn't care less how many die to keep him in his FOX position as "king of the mountain."

As for the "Christian" preachers, who knows what they really believe. But the words coming out of their mouths have little to do with their identifying themselves as "Christians."

Authoritarian regimes are havens for folks of mediocre talent and intelligence. They can thrive in that environment, if they are good at sucking up. Tucker excels at sucking up.

Some of the folks that listen to these clowns are lost forever. If you have friends or family that you really care about, the only way (in my opinion) to bring them back from that indoctrination is to find common ground.
