Tucker Carlson on Thursday said he doesnt believe that the self-professed white supremacist charged in the shooting deaths of 10 people in a Buffalo, New York, supermarket was influenced by racist ideology.
The Fox News host used a domestic terrorism bill passed by the House this week as a jumping-off point into denial of the problem. He obfuscated the definition of white supremacists and hate crimes ― whatever those are ― and referenced Martin Luther King Jr. to bolster his argument.
After showing a clip of lawmakers decrying the proliferation of racially motivated domestic terrorism, Carlson offered his twisted take:
So, they are continuing to tell you, in the face of all available evidence, that the mass murder you saw over the weekend in Buffalo was inspired by hateful right-wing rhetoric, when in fact that mass murder was committed by someone with diagnosed mental illness that the adults around him apparently ignored, the prime time star said.

(4,037 posts)I believe that his 800 page screed pretty much summed up his intent. As usual, FAUX news (?) and Carlson must be in some alternative reality.
God, theyre stupid.

(182,877 posts)I didnt stick around for the normal 5 minute Hunter Biden report.
Basically it was a full 15 minutes of the three idiots on the couch barking talking points to the believers. Gas inflation oh and an insinuation that Biden went to South Korea to get away from his problems in the US. At one point the Douchey guy interrupted the blond and she had to say I was almost finished and then dropped her head and continued reading off the papers in her lap. It was dizzyingly stupid.

(70,581 posts)Camus is better known these days as the author of the 2011 French book The Great Replacement, in which he pushed a theory embraced by white supremacists and cited by racist terrorists from New Zealand to Texas, and by the suspect in Saturdays grocery store attack in a Black neighborhood of Buffalo that left 10 people dead. The theory has also been echoed by mainstream conservatives such as Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Rep. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.), the No. 3 House Republican.
In The Great Replacement, which unlike Tricks was never published in English, Camus argued that Europes White majority was being replaced with Muslim people of color in collusion with a left-wing, globalist elite an elite of which he was once a part.

Media outlets blamed Tucker Carlson and Republicans for inspiring the shooter, but he condemned Republicans in his diary, never mentioned Carlson and expressed that he was politically left-leaning.

(7,434 posts)If he says that racism wasn't the motive that the white murderer used to kill ten black people, then, hey, we have no choice but to believe the asshole. Do we? Oh... but wait... Tucker's own employer has officially stated that Tucker lies to his audience for entertainment. So anything he says isn't worth the air he breathes.
