They "declared war" on the left many years ago. Their hatred of the "left" has morphed into a hatred of anything socialistic or progressive or that involves collective action for the greater good.

was the beginning of the Cold Civil War in this country. Hopefully, it will turn out like the Soviet Cold War, with the opposition decaying and collapsing under the weight of their own incompetence and flawed policies.

...so declaring would only reduce their chances of success. As far as they were concerned, the war had already begun and all they were doing was taking decisive action.

Should they be treated as enemies of this nation?

Absolutely.

They and their addled, ideologically-blinkered brains absolutely consider us enemies.

Ever since then it has been a non-stop escalation of labeling anyone on the left a "communist", a "traitor", "unAmerican", etc. You can draw a straight line from those labels in the 90s and 00s to "they drink baby blood and want to kidnap your kids for their pedophile ring" and "they are trying to replace white people" in the 10s and 20s.

This goes hand in hand with the rise of Christo-fascism which also took off in the 90s with the Quiverfull and Evangelical homeschool movements raising armies of Christ to "restore" this nation to a Christian theocracy.

Yes, they are domestic enemies of this nation.

The USA is not a "white" nation, nor is it a "Christian" nation. Anybody who can't get on board with those two simple concepts is deeply unpatriotic and does not understand what this country is actually about. Anybody who actively tries to make this nation one or the other is trying to undermine core principles of the US and is an enemy to it.

Doesn't mean that their misguided attempt to steal back an election was anything less that traitorous and unconstitutional.

Just because they thought they were justified doesn't mean they didn't have to take into account the fact that their actions were ILLEGAL.

Just because the crimes were committed by A LOT OF PEOPLE doesn't mean each individual crime wasn't a crime in itself.

Anyone who participated in the planning or execution of the coup should face the consequences of their treasonous behavior. A crime unpunished is simply a rough draft of a crime yet to happen.
