So the firefighters are being thanked for no lives being lost when all of 80-100 homes

were burned to the ground last night at Breezy Point Queens.
There is high praise for the mandatory evacuations.
I'm watching live coverage on a New York station

We can hope the other 25 homes evacuated prior to the fire. Do they know how it started? NotThisTime Oct 2012 #3

What's frightening is that medical examiners and coroners' boxes are moving into the neighborhood where all these homes were burned down. The thinking is that many people did not obey the mandatory evacuation and the fear is that more than a few folks died. Apparently 45 homes had folks who managed to escape and they are wondering what happened to those who did not escape.
Rain, sea surge, wind and fire - I'll pass on that combination being responsible for my exit from life.
