The Bounty captain was respected as competent and careful. But the sea is unforgiving... sometimes it just takes one mistake.

Personally, I would have moved the ship inland to safer waters, but I am super cautious.
It's one thing to be caught in waters you can't easily get out of. It's quite another to make the decision to head out of port into what is sure to be treacherous conditions.
My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the lost crew member and to those of the captain, who is surely lost as well.

(46,416 posts)seems to be his one big mistake. I understand that he was tasked with protecting the ship, but it was a replica. It can be... replicated.
