I'm so sickened by this. My wife is a school psychologist, and she says several of her students, even middle schoolers, are capable of doing something like this.

What are children missing in their lives?

I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I was a black sheep and a rebel as a teenager. But I still have no way to relate to that.

are a real problem if you're an impulsive, angry 18 year old.

But what is the psychological reason for all this? People with ASPD are only 1-4% of the population.

I can even understand a bit the racial animus. It's like when the military indoctrinated conscripts to go to Vietnam. They pound and pound into their heads that the enemy is somehow less than human.

But this is more prevalent than that. It's not enough to just say the world has gone crazy. It's something in our culture as well as all the guns and even the gun culture.

liked (fake) guns and playing at battles.

Doesn't it seem like a major leap from that to this?

... I grew up their were cap guns and cap rifles we knew were harmless.

The gun advertisers now target children with weapons that are real, its NO DOUBT gumpers ratcheting up the advertising

These laws should be nationwide, its the pistol grip that allows for mass kills easier under rapid fire than a straight stock rifle that's automatic.

https://www.vpc.org/studies/hosesix.htm

Do assault weapons really encourage "spray firing"? Gun industry apologists also disparage the use of such terms as "spray firing" and "shooting from the hip" to describe the deadly capabilities of assault weapons. But, as was explained earlier, "spray and pray" was exactly the point of developing assault weapons. And the following illustrations show graphically how specific assault weapons features allow a "point-and-shoot" grip and help control recoil so the shooter can "hose down" a wide area with a lethal "spray" of bullets.

In reference to that law, he said on Tuesday: “This case says that it may be a hard needle to thread, but it can be threaded.”

The lawsuit seized upon an exception built into the law that allows for litigation over sales and marketing practices that violate state and federal law. The families said that Remington, the gunmaker, violated a state consumer law by marketing and promoting their products in a way that encouraged illegal behavior.

The families pointed to the way the company portrayed the AR-15-style Bushmaster rifle as a weapon of war, with the use of slogans and product placement in video games that invoked combat violence. The lawsuit contended that hypermasculine themes — including an advertisement with a photograph of the weapon and the slogan “Consider your man card reissued” — specifically appealed to troubled young men, like the Sandy Hook gunman, who was 20.
