Bachmann's ideology isn't political -- it's religious.

For Bachmann and the Teabaggers, government isn't about conventional secular "policy," it's about theocracy.

So in that sense, Bachmann was being truthful. Scary, but truthful.

This is a year politicians are smashing records for stupid remarks, both in quantity and quality. Even Mrs. Bachmann appears to be setting new personal records for stupid remarks, and that is quite an accomplishment in itself.

OK, I know this is Democratic Underground, but there is really nothing partisan in the derision Mrs. Bachmann is getting from us or her audience. Any politician, especially one who has been in office for as long as Mrs. Bachmann has, would be mocked mercilessly for making such a statement, and rightly so.
