It is time to give Bill Clinton his due for all he has done in this campaign

The media has been oddly obsessed for four years about an alleged tension between Clinton and Obama. I have no idea what the nature of their personal relationship is, and I'm not sure I really care either. It's between them.

What I do know is that Bill Clinton has been outstanding in this campaign, even better than last time (and he was pretty good then too). He has barnstormed the country, appearing wherever he has been needed, pinch hit for the president while he tends to the hurricane, he has cut ads for Obama, delivered a magnificent keynote speech at the Democratic convention, done TV interviews to defend the president and set the record straight, helped to raise money from his contributors and written letters to newspapers (most recently to the Des Moines Register). He has not made a single gaffe that I can recall.

I know not what his motives are, or if he is building up IOU's for Hillary in 2016; maybe he just likes being out there campaigning again like in the old days.

In any event, we all owe him a great deal of gratitude.

I just think they never really knew each other that well. Obama and Hillary were in the Senate together but O never interacted with Bill. Anyway, I think most of the "Clintons don't get along with _______" is just a press obsession. As for Bill's motivation, I think he always wants to campaign more than they let him. He seems to really love it.

with a great big grin on my face, most of those times he now sees as "mistakes," but his efforts on behalf of Obama and other Democratic candidates has been stellar.

In addition, nobody can put things into words like Clinton can. He is a once in a generation speaker and I am heartily glad he is one of us.

I think he believes in Obama, and he wishes to see the Democrats prevail. After all, we have the good ideas!

But it's also true that he loves campaigning, the roar of the crowd, the exhilaration of being part of our Democratic movement.

Chelsea was concerned about his health/weight. As the story goes..... he asked her what she wanted for a wedding present, and she told him she wanted him to lose weight for the sake of his health. That is when he decided to become a vegetarian.

Chelsea is a vegetarian as well, so she helped him with his diet.

Hilary's birthday last week, to who he said, he was turning right around from the speech and flying to spend her birthday in NY. He did a great job, speaking about some agreements, and disagreements they had while he was President and Lampson was in Congress the 1st time. He is so relaxed, and frequently off the cuff. He can present an issue, make an argument, and tell a joke at the same time. Obama is great at giving a speech, but Bill'style is different than Obama's, and his best parts are in the parts in between the written material!

I had issues with him 4 years ago but I have come around on him. Reminds me of the old Bill Clinton who won me over as a teenager in early 90's. He was my first Presidential vote. His speeches have been masterful on the campaign stump. Just as good as his DNC speech.

Thanks, Bubba!

It would keep the Clinton name on the National Stage, give Hillary space to plan a massively efficient ground game (expect that planning to start the first DAY she is "off work",) and it would give Bill a job that not only he would LOVE anyway, but he would be damn good AT it.

If Hillary is elected, I want odds from you all on the likelihood of an Obama nomination to the SCoTUS...he IS a Constitutional Scholar, after all, and what better person to slap down the Executive when they step out of line, than someone who's DONE the job, and knows, from firsthand exp, where the Line SHOULD be...(And, I think part of Him REALLY just want's to be able to go play basketball on the top floor of the SC building whenever he damn-well pleases lol)

Also, do any of you think Michelle is done with national politics? I don't (she's waaayyy too smart to spend her life happy as a bored DC socialite housewife type). Could there be a 2016 Ill. Senate run in her future?

And don't think Hillary's future hasn't been gamed out bewteen The Clinton's and the Obama's...The President and SoS are both waaayyy too ambitious and good at the long-game to not have hade at least a conversation about it=) I would bet it happened when he asked her to come on board as SoS.
