We’re not allowed to discuss politics in the office where I work. There are a couple of far right wingers who are Trumpians in a big way. I’m somewhat friendly with one of them and was hoping she would have watched the hearing last night, so I asked her this am if she watched it, and she said no.

Probably didn’t want to miss Tucker, but I’m really disappointed her mind is so closed.

They view this as fake and a nothingburger no matter what details or evidence you bring to them.

This is what happens when you live in alternative fact world. When you can present lies as facts and condition people to ignore everything that isn't from your mouth. There is no reaching these people.

Anyone who isn't a crazy Trumper is a democrat in their eyes. They do not care one bit about their "traditional conservative value" one bit. Their litmus test is whether they are fully on board with TFG and TFG alone.

I agree with you about having Adam Kissinger and Liz Chaney there because we are aiming to convince the middle of the road people. And having republicans there will give us more credibility in those people's eyes.

and he and his guests talking over it -- to debunk testimony and present the conspiracy narrative they've been pushing for the past 18 months. Plus a lot of other ways of reality tweaking and denying. When the hearing showed video of the Jan 6 violence, Fox's audience got to see the audience in the hearing chamber instead. And so on.

So if you ask again, your coworker might say she had. And she might believe it -- but hopefully not.

16. It's not the Trumpies we need. it is the people who don't pay much attention to politics.

The Trumpies are putting out their propaganda 24/7 in their media machine, repeating their lies over and over.

That's what I hope these televised hearings will accomplish. Break through their media wall and expose the lies.

We won't sway the Trumpies, who will physically put their fingers in their ears when challenged (yes, I have personally witnessed this).

We may catch the attention of Regular Folk who see coverage of these hearings and say "I didn't know all that was going on".
