7. As noted, it was made a Federal holiday last year - signed into law by President Biden.

and was probably the fastest holiday ever to be enacted in modern times, and it went into effect instantly - literally signed into law 2 days before the first use of it!

An Act



To amend title 5, United States Code, to designate Juneteenth National
Independence Day as a legal public holiday.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ``Juneteenth National Independence Day
Act''.
SEC. 2. JUNETEENTH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY AS A LEGAL PUBLIC
HOLIDAY.

Section 6103(a) of title 5, United States Code, is amended by
inserting after the item relating to Memorial Day the following:
``Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19.''.

In the recent past, Congress went through all sorts of pretzel twists to only have "10 federal holidays" to the point where after years of hemming and hawing about what became the "Martin Luther King, Jr. Day" holiday, they consolidated the once-separate "Lincoln's Birthday" and "Washington's Birthday" holidays into "President's Day" in order to keep the total at "10"....

...Until last year.

So now there are actually "11" federal holidays.
