I have always liked the O'Melveny. The transaction attorneys know how to get a deal closed. This story about one of the witnesses tomorrow is very interesting

As Greg Jacob watched angry supporters of former President Donald Trump coalesce around the Capitol on Jan. 6, he fired off an email to a man whom he had only recently met whose actions he felt contributed to the unfolding chaos.
In meetings on each of the previous two days, John Eastman, a conservative constitutional law professor representing Trump, met with Jacob, who was then chief counsel to Vice President Mike Pence. Eastman tried to convince Jacob that Pence, who was set to preside over the formal certification of the election results on Jan. 6, had the legal authority to reject electors and potentially declare Trump the winner.
Jacob thought the theory was legal nonsense.
I have run down every legal trail placed before me to its logical conclusion, and I respectfully conclude as a legal framework, it is a results oriented position that you would never support if attempted by the opposition, and essentially entirely made up, he wrote in an email as the mob began to breach the building.

I will be happy to see John Eastman disbarred.

The Trump mob would have killed Pence and his family and still he doesn't have the integrity to stand up before the nation and tell the whole truth about the insurrection conspiracy.

Retired federal Judge J. Michael Luttig, a staunch conservative long admired by many Republicans, will testify before the House's Jan. 6 committee on Thursday with an urgent and stark message for the panel about former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election: "America's democracy was almost stolen from her."
