While many have children and grandchildren who are angry about today's SCOTUS vote on Roe

I have children and grandchildren who are frightened, scared, depressed because of gun violence and the shootings in the schools. Grandchildren are especially depressed and afraid. Afraid of white people they see everyday. Afraid of some of their classmates who returned to school last year spouting Trumpian meme they heard from their parents. Depressed because little seems to be done with bullies in school.

Grown children who are afraid that they will not be able to vote or that their votes will not count. Afraid to go to work because there seems to be no protections for their job security. Afraid to attend public events. Afraid to drive because cops can run amuck and might shoot them for no reason.

Men in my family who were against guns are now talking about arming themselves and taking shooting lessons except they do not want to give any money to the NRA to do it.

What is going on now is having devastating affect on black and some brown families but not spoken about except among the families. Even the members of my family who recently migrated south for economic reasons are uneasy and reconsidering their position on guns. All of this shit is an extra heavy load on many black Americans.
