Well, it's good that the Jan 6 hearings got postponed till after July 4th.

Besides being able to go over their new evidence, they're giving the public some time to absorb what has happened to Roe v Wade, before returning to the hearings.

Maybe the Democrats are getting better at strategic thinking.

ON EDIT: And now that millions of Americans have FINALLY woken up to what is at stake, maybe they will be paying even more attention to the Hearings when they start again.

3. I'm pretty sure they kept this decision in mind.

I read that the hearings have spurred people to contact the committee with more information, so it's one reason they're having more hearings. But they knew this decision was coming and America needs time to grieve, rage, and protest.

I am only surprised the SCOTUS didn't release the decision before the hearing on Thursday just to fuck with the committee.

7. my guess is the committee will not be in recess, just the rest of congress

they understand the urgency of their mission. Judging by what they have shown us so far, the committee members must be more pissed off then we are (they know more). And they know the committee might not survive the election.

The committee has done an excellent job so far, they will continue to do so. They will be working during the recess.

8. Yes, it also gives people a chance to digest the previous hearings.

Or, to catch up on any of the ones they missed. Most DUers already knew a lot of what they presented, but a lot of people don't. It's not a bad idea to give them time to go through the previous stuff on their own.

The SC ruling wasn't timed to distract from the Jan 6 Committee Hearing. and the future Committee Hearings aren't being delayed to get out from under the SC ruling.
