Throwing shade! Lauren Santo Domingo slammed Ivanka Trump in a scathing tweet accusing her of having had a high school abortion as protests continue following the Supreme Court's shocking decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The two socialites used to be close years ago and were frequently spotted out and about together in New York, but they no longer appear to be on friendly terms.
...
"Ivanka Trump, you are noticeably quiet today," Santo Domingo tweeted on Saturday, June 25. "The high school friends who took you to get an abortion are not."
Although she deleted the social media message, it was retweeted, screencapped and shared by hundreds of people before she was able to remove it.
This comes two years after Trump claimed to be "unapologetically" pro-life in an interview with RealClearPolitics.
"I respect all sides of a very personal and sensitive discussion," she told the outlet when asked about the controversial topic. "But I am also a mother of three children, and parenthood affected me in a profound way in terms of how I think about these things."

Ivanka is easy to hate on. An easy target. But whatever she did or did not do as a minor is a non issue. Let her be.

(40,212 posts)First, I dont think calling people out for an abortion is consistent with being pro-choice, so that troubles me.
Secondly, If true, Ivanka is a fraud and a hypocrite and like her father, believes in nothing. But we already knew that.

(40,212 posts)But experiences as a teenager can cause a person to develop empathy for others. To say she is unabashedly pro-life after having this experience herself and now wanting to deny that to others is heartless. Did she stop and ask herself what she would have done if she hadnt had access to an abortion?
And I dont believe her new found pro-life statements anyway.

IF true, boo hoo
The GQP have no issues with MURDERING Kids with guns, and fetuses when GQP US Taliban, white privileged, reich-winged males make sure that their mistresses, side-pieces are afforded private abortions anytime and any place. And some like Bob Barr from Georgia, who FORCED his wife to abort their fetus. He was of course pro-life up to his beady eye-balls, and got ANGRY when the wife outed HIM for forcing her to murder their precious fetus. He's guilty too. She didn't get pregnant by herself. He's still a rabid anti-abortion asshole who doesn't mind murdering women who have ectopic pregnancies, KNOWING that these women will die if they don't have a procedure to save their lives which will abort that precious fetus/life. Oh, and little girls who are raped and or incest victims and are impregnated, he wants to FORCE them to have their Dad's baby. How craven, rotten and evil. Pieces of shit GQP'ers. The GQP is making laws via the OLD Testament, and Treasonous, self-hating Thomas is going after gay rights/gay marriage and contraception.
Be it through weak sauce gun laws that were just passed where Dems have to settle for something, or with this new Roe law where WOMEN will DIE literally because most in the GQP is now pushing to ban abortions in case of the life of the mother (ectopic pregnancies), and little girls will be forced to have their Dad's babies. And what about that woman whack job in Utah? These GQP'ers are SICK
A Republican lawmaker from Utah said she believes women can control 'when they allow a man to ejaculate' and 'the intake of semen' during sex.
https://www.businessinsider.com/republican-lawmaker-utah-women-control-intake-of-semen-during-sex-2022-6
And, once that precious fetus is born and turns in to a child, the GQP US Taliban party kicks that child to the curb like it's TRASH. I made a resolution on Jan. 1st to get rid of my weak sauce Dem friends who constantly told me that we don't need to be like the GQP. Since when is calling those terrorists out not a good thing? I feel so much better. I'm hundreds of lbs lighter, and back to my real weight of 135 lbs

(6,974 posts)that we know of IS that women will DIE in the next several years thanks to GQP'ers like her. It was alright for her to have an abortion when she needed and wanted one., but now she wants to burn the bridge in essence behind her? Women will die thanks to their and GQP'er playing GOD and by overturning Roe. She nor the GQP US Taliban Party gives a shit about women's lives., nor do they care about precious fetuses or children. The sanctity of life only matters when it's one of their kids/grand kids lives. Everybody elses children and grandchildren are TRASH as far as they're concerned. That Gun bill is weak sauce, because that's all the Dems could get them to agree to.
Red states have Guns, forced abortion and God.

(73,552 posts)that is my point, too: people will suffer and people will die.
We have options of how and where we will invest our energies in response. One is express contempt and furious feelings about Ivanka Trump. I can only speculate, but I am pretty sure that everyone on this forum had already determined that Ivanka is a terrible human being. And whie aiming anger at her may be a manner for some to blow off steam, it cannot and will not reduce the amount of suffering and death that will result from the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of religious superstitition.
Another option that some -- myself included -- are investing our energies in has been organizing something akin to the Underground Railroad, to bring women in states where women's health care is being restricted to states where sanity and decency rule. We recognize that history is calling us. The group that I am in part of, that will coordinate with similar groups, includes some area people who live in the same houses that once were part of the Underground Railroad, befor the first Civil War. We've known, as everyone has, that this ruling was coming down, and thought there is really not time nor enegy to waste on absolutely unproductive reactions. For when the danger of the darkness is greatest, we are convinced that it is better to respond in a manner that has the very real potential to lessen that suffering and death.

The hypocricy was breathtaking then and it's just as much now with Ivanka. She's disgusting and hypocritical and a liar. What's beyond contemptible is defending her right to be a fucking hypocrite.

(35,961 posts)My introduction to the internet years ago was a Yahoo group where anti-choice wankers would rant and rave at us. They went into a frenzy when one clinic worker pointed out that they'd seen a fair few anti-choicers go for abortions for themselves or their families. And you know what the response from the rabid Yahoo anti-choicers was? Names! Or it didn't happen! So when it comes to Ivanka, if you can't see the absolute total hypocrisy and decide that everyone who disagrees with you is misogynistic or a truly terrible person, then tough. I hope you don't shame-silence people into not pointing out the total hypocrisy of extreme RW women...

(35,961 posts)If a doctor or other health professional makes public the details of someone's health history, that's breaching their medical privacy, right? In this case, it's an ex-friend who's saying they took Ivanka to have an abortion. Using the same train of thought, does it mean we shouldn't mention that prominent anti-vaxxers have had Covid if someone who knows them makes it public?
