For anyone feeling really overwhelmed right now...

It’s ok to not be ok. We’ll continue the fight, but this is awful, it’s ok to feel that and say that. It’s ok to be frustrated cause any answers are gonna take a long time for us to accomplish. Hang in there, and know you’re alone in feeling this way. Millions of us get it. And if you need a moment to absorb all this or need to rant, that’s more than valid.

While I am not -- just warming up -- your message is on target. People need to take care of themselves.

that it was OK not to feel ok from such a shattering event.

This will go on probably a lot longer, and effects so, so many more intimintly.
It's hideous, heinious and up ending for some right now, and so.mamy others down the line.

Vent, distract, rest, and work at it as you can.

What's more, the horror stories that are no doubt going to emerge from this will keep reopening the wounds.

It's just a matter of time before some miscarrying woman dies due to care being withheld because "The baybee has a heartbeat!" When that happened in Ireland, they made the abortiin laws less restrictive. Somehow I don't think it'll have that effect here.

I'll hold a modicum of hope if it happens to someone they know and still love well...
Of course I don't want it to happen, but it's going, to.

And now the long-winded justification.

Not being a young man anymore, this bothered me for years. Then it was explained to me.

It’s okay to be intolerant of intolerant people.

If we’re unable to accept current events, it’s likely because of this. The advice lacks a solution, but it defined my anxiety for me.

For example, yelling at children is almost always a poor method of behavior control. Unless that kid is running toward a busy street and you yell “stop!” as loud as you can. So, it’s okay to feel uneasy about uneasiness—it means your senses are properly tuned.

Ignoring injustice is blindness for the soul.
